Dear Marjorie
I have been to church today it made a great change. We had the option church or rout march so there was only one thing to do. All leave has been stopped; this has not surprised me although it is very annoying it means I shall not be home Sunday. It is impossible to make a break for home all stations are watched roads are impassable. So I shall have to wait until leave is granted to me, which I do not think, will be for a long time. By the way tell Ma & Pa that if they go sick at any time to get a certificate and send it down here with a letter. I might be able to get some leave that way. Nobody knows the reason for the cancellation of leave, but still if one knows the army there never is any reason given for any thing they do or say. Well darling how are your family keeping are they still at Ealing, tell me what you do of a night time do you go to the pictures much these days or are you saving your money. I hope you have seen Mr Bamber by now. I am glad you never gave me a ring I am afraid it would be in the pawnshop by now. Everybody is pawning things down here of any value. Ask my Pop if he received my letter asking him for some money and stamps, also whether if my kit from Brighton has arrived yet. I am going on Wednesday to have an injection in my leg, the right calf where the veins are, they do not hurt me but the army has offered to attend to them. So I accepted their offer not that I like the idea of having them needled. Doctors, that's all we seem to be visiting, they cannot find much wrong with us, worse luck.
Cherrio darling for now,
Syd

P.S.My Pop has sent the money so there will no need to ask him.

P.P.S.I am ready for any cakes you like to send.
