Dear Marjorie
Just a note to let you know that I am alright. I received your letter today Monday, at present we are painting our huts and you should see the moss. The place is in white wash and paint is all over the place. I shall be glad when we have finished the dam place. The huts before we started were red rust so you can imagine what a time we have had in painting the place. Since we have had a cut in our petrol ration we have started having cross country marches, so far we have done three of these all of them being twenty miles or more. Heck it takes it out of me it is worse than a march on the road although it makes a change from cleaning trucks and guns. Have you heard how Charles is going along? Also, are the chickens laying and have the insects been keeping away? Will close now,
Cherrio,

Sydney.
