Dear Marjorie
Just a note to let you know that I have received all your letters, parcel and the three pounds which you sent me and once again darling I thank you. I am sorry I have not written before only we have just come back from firing camp and at camp we were out all day long on the moors and I can assure you it was hellish cold the weather was black, also the mud was terrible, one was constantly getting stuck in the mud but that scheme is over thank goodness, so the sooner one forgets about it the better. I think it was a failure and not at all a success. Well darling there is another draft and I am not on it, although there is another draft in a months time so I may be on that but in the mean time I should get my leave in fact I am almost sure that I shall get it on the 19th. of this month so if that's the case I shall be home for Christmas which will be nice of course. Things may happen which will cause the leave to be cancelled but if everything is OK I shall be home for Christmas and my, I do hope I  am. Well darling I must close now so,
Cherrio,
Sydney.
