Dear Marjorie
Received letter and cigarettes for which I thank you, I hope you were not too disappointed, at me not being able to come home, over the weekend. Next weekend I am not to sure about you see some body has got to go to Salisbury to pick up a lorry and the Sergeant Major, kind of hinted that I should be the driver if the case is such I am afraid my forty-eight pass is not for this week and on the other hand I may not go, but I just mentioned it so you will not be to disappointed if I do not turn up again this weekend. I have been to the dentist today he has finished the job now and I may say he has made a dam good show on my teeth, but he pulled a fast one on me by pulling one of my teeth out, it was a wisdom tooth, it was far beyond the filling stage, but the dentist gave me the impression he was going to fill it and the funny part about it was I did not know he had pull it out until I found blood in my mouth, even then I thought he had cut my gum with drill, it was not until I asked him that I was properly sure, what he had done. My I do not mind having teeth pulled out if they all come out like this one, although it is coming to now and is beginning to give me a little pain. Well darling I think that is enough about teeth, we are going shooting in September at the same place that we went last year. I think we shall be there for about a week, of course leave will be cancelled, I am not expecting to have my seven days leave until Oct. Well darling must close now as I have got to take the car out, I am duty driver that means I am every bodies beck and call.
