Dear Marjorie
Just a note to let you know that I received your parcel and everything was alright. It will come in very handy because we are going to have another stand to this weekend, it may last all next week, this will not be so bad if the weather continues to be good. By the way we had a little excitement here the other night Gerry dropped four bombs around our gun position. I guess he was just dropping them to get rid of them, no damage was done except four large holes in the ground although this was annoying because we had to fill them up and I can assure you it took us some time, the sand at this place is simply terrible. One has sand in their boots, down their necks and all over the place, it makes one quite sore, I am sure the desert could be no worse than this place for sand. We played the Home Guard at darts and beat them, the H. G.
Round here are not seen to be very brilliant at anything although I reckon they are doing a great job on the land. Well darling, I guess I will close now write later on,
Cherrio
